Alumni Games 2010!

This year’s Alumni Games was held in mid-May in a new spot down in Olive Grove Park.  Alumni, once again, dominated the courts and managed to steal a win in a tough and competitive game that came down to the wire.  After several scoreless minutes, the alumni came through to give Alumni another W.     In addition to the traditional Alumni vs Undergrads game, this year we decided to include an Alumni vs Alumni game!

In a battle between the “senior” alumni and the “junior” alumni, the seniors came up on top.  As usual, our second sport was our classic softball game.   Our alumni took an easy win and stole another Alumni Games trophy!  This year’s Alumni Games MVP was awarded to Jeanie Ray for his valuable contributions on the field!  Congratulations Jeanie Ray!  We’ll see who takes the Alumni Games MVP in 2011!  As always, it’s always great to have Alumni and Undergrads come together both to have fun and also to maintain our strong ties across our organization.  We hope to see all of you and more out there next year!

2010 Alumni Association Scholarship Winners

This is another program our AA maintains and is very proud of.  Every year, the Alumni Association donates two scholarships to two of our fellow brothers to reward them and support them financially during their undergraduate studies. The two brothers who have shown outstanding commitment to NAK’s three primary goals: Academics, Brotherhood and Culture.   This year’s Alumni Association scholarships went to Gerardo Jaimes and Robert Espinoza for all their efforts and commitment both individually and for the Chapter.

Congratulations Gerardo and Robert!  Keep up the good work!   On behalf of the Alumni Association, we encourage everyone else to continue their efforts and maintain a well academic record. Remember that your effort in college will be reflected in your future.  Hit the books, get to work and cash out!  College is too expensive to be wasting your time and money.

3rd Annual Family Day!

This year’s Family Day is scheduled to be held in Mission Bay by De Anza Cove on September 18th, 2010 at 12pm! (#3 on the map) (map) All   Alumni and Undergrads are welcome to attend and bring their family with them.   This is a Potluck Style Event and everyone is welcome to bring a dish, food or drink of their choice.  The Alumni Association will be grilling burgers and hot dogs, however, we encourage everyone to bring additional items.  It’s always great to see a variety of dishes for everyone to share and enjoy as a family.  In addition, we’ll also have sporting and fun events going on. A volleyball net will be provided as well as gift bags and activities for the children to enjoy.  We hope to see everyone and their families there in hopes of making this another successful family event.

AA Fall Rush Event

Another year, another beginning.  Fall quarter is around the corner and it’s that time of the year our active Chapter focuses on attaining the best candidates out there interested in joining our great family.  To assist our current active Chapter, Alumni will be attending our annual AA Fall Rush Event currently scheduled for September 27th, 2010.  This year, the Undergrads have proposed a new format for this Rush Event.  The new format will provide alumni with an opportunity for more face time interaction with our interests, as well as a chance for Alumni to share their NAK experiences both through college and life after graduation.  The logistics of this event are currently being discussed and the final details will be provided via email.

Alumni Association Message to Undergrads!

On behalf of all the members of the Alumni Association, we would like to wish all undergrads the best for this new school year!  Remember to always take care of your education first!  We all want you to succeed both through college and in life. Plan, prepare and you’ll reach your goals!
